Our Cattle Credentials
Just what goes in to rearing organic beef?

Grass Fed for Life

Ethical and Traceable

Award Winning

The Best Rearing
The beef we purvey online, in our farm shops, and organic inns is sourced from our own heritage breed Aberdeen Angus herd. Our cattle are the product of close work with the Rare Breed Survival Trust, ensuring native British breeds are allowed to flourish.
To ensure we can meet demand, we also partner with local farmers who expertly breed other heritage cattle such as Traditional Herefords and Ruby Reds. We carefully ensure all our beef is organic certified by the Soil Association or the Organic Farmers and Growers Society.
All our cattle are grass fed for life and never supplemented with any grain feed. In the summer they roam organic pastures. While in the winter, they feed on homemade silage and hay, harvested from the same fields they graze. This makes for a healthier life for our cattle, allowing them to grow at a slower, more natural pace.
The Best Quality
Our stringent organic criteria and commitment to sustainable practices has seen us recognised. Mark has been named Beef Farmer of the Year for two consecutive years at the South West Farmer Awards.
We also have received numerous Great Taste, Taste of the West and Food Drink Devon awards for our beef produce. Comments frequently refer to superb intra-muscular fat marbling and succulence that are present as a result of our ethical rearing process.
