How To Cook
We recommend:
Oven Cooking
- Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) or 400°F.
- Prepare a baking tray: Line it with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Place the crab cakes: Arrange the crab cakes on the tray, ensuring there’s space between them.
- Bake: Cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Check doneness: The crab cakes should reach an internal temperature of 63°C (145°F) or be hot throughout.
2. Stovetop Frying
- Heat a pan: Add 1-2 tablespoons of oil to a non-stick skillet and heat over medium.
- Cook the crab cakes: Fry the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Serve: Once they’re nicely browned, remove them from the pan and drain on paper towels if needed.
3. Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer: Set it to 180°C (350°F).
- Lightly oil the crab cakes: Spray or brush a little oil on the crab cakes for extra crispiness.
- Air fry: Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway, until they are crispy and heated through.
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve crab cakes with a side of coleslaw, lemon wedges, or a creamy remoulade sauce. They also pair well with a light salad or roasted vegetables.
