Why not swap out beef mince for venison mince this week?
Naturally much lower in fat, venison's dark, rich meat is a healthy and tasty addition to ragus and sauces.

How To Cook
We Recommend:
Venison Chili
Ingredients:
- 500g venison mince
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (400g) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: sour cream, cheese, chopped cilantro
Instructions:
-
Sauté the Vegetables:
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
-
Brown the Venison:
- Add the venison mince to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
-
Add Remaining Ingredients:
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. Bring to a simmer.
-
Cook the Chili:
- Reduce heat to low and cover. Let the chili simmer for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning as needed.
-
Serve:
- Ladle the chili into bowls and top with sour cream, cheese, and cilantro if desired. Enjoy with bread or rice!
