Spending time with friends and family is always lovely, but made even better when enjoying proper, hearty food and drink. After all, we don’t say enjoy food, enjoy life for nothing. We know that Valentine’s Day has a history of a good old-fashioned meal (find out more about that here), so we’ve been back through our recipe hub to find the perfect Valentine’s recipes for you to try this Valentine’s Day. We’re sure these recipes, courtesy of our friend Han & Becks, will impress that someone special on the day of love…
The Perfect Valentine’s Starter
To start your evening of indulgence, try Han & Becks’ wild scallops recipe, pan fried in brown butter and complete with organic mushroom puree, spinach sauce and watercress. This decadent starter will have you feeling like you’re feasting at a Michelin Star restaurant, all from the comfort of your home.
The Highlight: Wild Scallops
Our Wild Scallops are sustainably caught off the coast of Plymouth, only a short drive from our organic farm in Devon. The scallops are shucked to order, with their shells washed and retained for a fresh, clean and impressive product. The sweet and delicate flavour is really brought out of its shell when pan fried with the soft and creamy orange roe still attached.
The Companion: Macon-Villages Vielle Vignes Verpailles
This organic white wine from the Macon region in the south of Burgundy produces a delightful drink made from the old vines found here. The warmer weather allows for a riper, fruitier organic wine, with buckets of elegance and freshness. A lovely companion for wild scallops.

The Perfect Valentine’s Main Course
Once you’ve whetted your appetite with our wild scallops starter, move on to the main course of sharing fillet steak. This steak recipe combines organic, grass fed beef fillet with polenta chips, spinach chimichurri, charred romano peppers and crispy kale.
The Highlight: 28 Day Dry Aged Beef Fillet Steaks
Let alone the highlight of the main course, our grass fed, organic beef fillet steaks are sure to be the highlight of your entire evening. Our organic beef fillet steaks are a premium cut from native, traditional breed cattle who are fed a 100% pasture diet. These grass fed beef steaks are beautifully marbled with a wonderful texture, with enhanced taste thanks to 28 day dry ageing next to a pink Himalayan salt wall. What’s more, these organic steaks won a Food Drink Devon Gold award in 2017.
The Companion: Ijalba Reserva Rioja
Another wonderfully aged product, this smooth, aromatic organic red wine pairs beautifully with organic beef steak. Aged for 18 months, this Rioja presents a complex mixture of flavours, including strawberry and raspberry with hints of herbs and spices.

Their wide range of English Botanically inspired wild flavours and 100% organic, certified by the Soil Association. Although the recipe recommends organic dark chocolate, you can make this one your own by choosing your favourite Seed & Bean flavour.
