At Eversfield Organic, we believe that humane and sustainable animal farming is not only possible, it is the only way.
Sadly, statistics reveal that less than 1% of UK pig farming adopts organic methods, leaving the majority of pork production in conditions that fall well short of our ethical standards and that we find frankly unacceptable.
That's why we're proud to partner with farmers like James Keith from The Organic Pig Company, whose ethos aligns perfectly with ours. With over 40 years of experience in pig farming, James is a true advocate for organic practices.
After discovering that his pigs thrived in the outdoor life offered by the drier climate in Norfolk, he embarked on a Nuffield Scholarship journey to study organic pig production globally, learning from the best in the field to ensure his farm operates at the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
James and his dedicated team at The Organic Pig Company prioritise the wellbeing of their pigs, allowing them to thrive in their natural habitat. Free from interventions like tail docking, teeth trimming, and nose ringing, his pigs enjoy a life of freedom, foraging, and exploration.
Their diet consists of organic feed sourced from trusted suppliers, choosing UK-grown organic ingredients whenever possible. When it's time for processing, James works closely with local abattoirs whenever possible to minimise stress during transportation and ensure the utmost care and respect for the animals.
This commitment to animal welfare produces exceptional pork; a lean, tasty meat with a perfect layering of fat. We think you can truly taste the difference.
