New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are all about relaxed celebration — food that feels indulgent without being complicated. Whether you’re grazing your way to midnight or sitting down to a comforting New Year’s Day feast, organic meat brings depth, flavour, and a sense of occasion to every dish.

Below are some of our most popular New Year starter and main course ideas, each with an easy recipe to help you recreate them at home.


Starters

1. Organic Steak Crostini

An elegant, bite-sized starter that’s rich, indulgent, and perfect with a glass of something sparkling.

Ingredients

  • 300g organic beef steak (sirloin or rump)

  • Olive oil

  • Sea salt & black pepper

  • Sliced sourdough baguette

  • Butter or olive oil

  • Horseradish cream or Dijon mustard

Method

  1. Season the steak with salt and pepper.

  2. Sear in a hot pan with oil for 2–3 minutes per side until medium-rare. Rest, then slice thinly.

  3. Toast the bread slices with butter or oil until golden.

  4. Top with beef slices and a spoon of horseradish or mustard. Serve warm.


2. Crispy Organic Chicken Wings

A New Year’s Eve classic — sticky, crispy, and made for sharing.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Toss wings with oil, seasoning, and spices.

  2. Roast at 200°C (fan 180°C) for 40–45 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crisp.

  3. Serve with dipping sauces or a squeeze of lemon.


3. Organic Sausage Rolls

A festive favourite that works just as well warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Roll sausage meat into a log and place along the pastry.

  2. Roll, seal, and brush with egg wash.

  3. Slice into rolls and bake at 200°C (fan 180°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden.

Method

Method

  1. Bring steaks to room temperature.

  2. Season and sear in a hot pan for 2–4 minutes per side.

  3. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Season lamb generously.

  2. Roast covered at 160°C (fan) for 3–4 hours until tender.

  3. Uncover for the final 30 minutes to brown.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Shape mince into patties and season.

  2. Fry or grill for 3–4 minutes per side.

  3. Serve in buns with toppings.


4. Wild Venison Steak with Red Wine & Berry Sauce

A special, celebratory dish that feels indulgent yet light — perfect for ringing in the New Year.

Ingredients

  • Wild venison steaks

  • Olive oil or butter

  • Sea salt & black pepper

  • 150 ml red wine

  • 1 tbsp redcurrant jelly or berry preserve

  • Knob of butter

Method

  1. Bring venison to room temperature and season lightly.

  2. Sear in a very hot pan for 1–2 minutes per side (venison is best served rare to medium-rare). Remove and rest.

  3. Deglaze the pan with red wine, reduce by half, then stir in redcurrant jelly.

  4. Finish with a knob of butter and spoon over the rested venison to serve.
