Nothing says Christmas quite like a perfectly roasted Organic Bronze Turkey at the centre of the table. At Eversfield Organic, our Bronze Turkeys are raised outdoors to the highest organic welfare standards, resulting in meat that is naturally fresh, moist and full of flavour. Available in sizes from 3.5–4.5kg up to 8.5–9.5kg, they’re the perfect centrepiece whether you’re hosting a small family gathering or a festive feast for the whole clan.

This guide walks you through how to roast your Bronze Turkey to perfection, with flavour inspiration from our organic sausage meat stuffings and festive glazes for that extra special touch.


Ingredients

  • 1 Eversfield Organic Bronze Turkey (size according to your gathering: 3.5–4.5kg feeds approx. 6–8, 8.5–9.5kg feeds 14+)

  • 2 onions, halved

  • 1 carrot, roughly chopped

  • 2 sticks celery, roughly chopped

  • 1 bulb garlic, halved

  • A few sprigs of fresh rosemary and thyme

  • 100g organic butter, softened

  • Sea salt & black pepper

Method

  1. Prepare your turkey
    Remove the turkey from the fridge 1 hour before cooking to come up to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 190°C (170°C fan) / Gas 5.

  2. Season & stuff
    Place the chopped vegetables, garlic, and herbs in the base of your roasting tray. If using stuffing, gently pack it into the neck cavity of the turkey (avoid overfilling to allow even cooking). Season the turkey generously inside and out with sea salt and pepper. Rub the softened butter all over the breast and legs to help the skin crisp and the meat stay moist.

  3. Roasting time
    Place the turkey breast side up on top of the vegetables. Roast uncovered for 20 minutes per kg plus 70 minutes. For example:

    • A 4kg turkey: approx. 2 hours 50 minutes

    • A 6.5kg turkey: approx. 3 hours 40 minutes

    • A 9kg turkey: approx. 4 hours 50 minutes

    Cover loosely with foil if the skin begins to brown too quickly.

  4. Glaze (optional)
    For a festive finish, brush your chosen glaze (brown sugar, spiced apple, or orange) over the turkey for the last 30 minutes of cooking. This gives a glossy, flavourful crust.

  5. Check doneness
    The thickest part of the thigh should reach 75°C on a meat thermometer. Juices should run clear.

  6. Resting
    Remove from the oven and cover loosely with foil. Rest for at least 30–40 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to settle, keeping the meat tender and succulent.


Serving Suggestions

  • Pair your Bronze Turkey with all the trimmings: crisp roast potatoes, seasonal veg, and of course, plenty of gravy made from the roasting juices.
