The classic Christmas flavour combination of chocolate and orange comes together perfectly in this rich and fudgey brownie recipe...
Ingredients
-
200g of dark chocolate
-
120g of butter
-
80g of brown sugar
-
80g of caster sugar
-
3 eggs
-
2 oranges (zested and juiced)
-
100g of plain flour
-
Orange chocolate (optional)
-
Clotted cream (optional)
-
Icing sugar (optional)
Directions
Start by pre-heating your oven to 180’C and grease and line a brownie pan with baking paper.
Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a bowl over a pan of boiling water, then remove from the heat.
In another bowl whisk together the eggs, sugars and orange zest until the mixture is slightly frothed.
Into this bowl add the slightly cooled melted chocolate mix and the juice from the oranges and mix to combine.
Sift in the flour and a pinch of salt and mix until nicely combined, then pour it into your prepared pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, then take out of the oven and leave to cool slightly.
For an extra touch of orange flavour, melt some orange chocolate and drizzle over your brownies before refrigerating for a bit to let it set.
Dust with icing sugar and serve with clotted cream.
