That’s why, for every Green Friday Meat Box sold, we’re donating £5 to Farms for City Children.
This incredible charity provides immersive, hands-on farm residentials for young people from all backgrounds. By working alongside real farmers, children learn about sustainable farming and environmental stewardship, nurturing a lifelong connection to nature. For many of these young people, a week on the farm can truly be life-changing.
There’s something magical about life on a farm. From planting seeds, tending to animals, and simply watching the seasons unfold. It teaches children where their food comes from, how vital nature is, and the care that goes into sustainable farming, fostering confidence and a sense of achievement along the way.
The charity provides beneficiaries with a unique experience far removed from their usual surroundings, immersing them in hands-on farming. From growing and harvesting vegetables to tending livestock and caring for the land, they learn about the field-to-fork journey, sustainable agriculture, and healthy eating while building teamwork, resilience, and mindfulness, all while experiencing the physical and mental well-being benefits of time spent in nature.
