Our Farms & Suppliers
Our deer stalker started selling quality wild venison and game aged 17, with knowledge gained from a farming background. His wild venison and pheasant are truly special with a naturally rich flavour. These animals are not classified as organic as they are completely wild. This means they eat what they please and roam where they please across estates in the South of England. The meat is leaner than farmed meats and goes perfectly with British fruits such as blackberries, juniper berries, and redcurrants.

How To Cook

We Recommend:

Hearty Venison Stew

Ingredients:

  • 400g diced venison
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef or venison stock
  • 1 cup red wine (optional, can replace with more stock)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Brown the Venison:

    • In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced venison and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the meat and set it aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables:

    • In the same pot, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Add the carrots, potatoes, and mushrooms. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Add Liquid and Seasoning:

    • Stir in the tomato paste, thyme, and bay leaf. Add the browned venison back into the pot.
    • Pour in the stock and red wine (if using). Bring to a simmer.
  4. Simmer the Stew:

    • Cover and reduce the heat to low. Let the stew simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the venison is tender. Stir occasionally and add more stock or water if needed.
  5. Serve:

    • Once cooked, remove the bay leaf and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

FAQs

Our Meat

Is your meat organic and certified?

At Eversfield Organic we are proud of our Soil Association organic certification. Additionally, we offer Pasture Fed Livestock Association (PFLA) certified (those reared on our farm) and 100% grass-fed (those from surrounding farms) meat, making all our produce trustworthy. In addition, every cut of meat you buy from us can be traced back to the very animal it came from, excellently produced by our skilled ethical butchers.

Do you use antibiotics?

Under organic standards, we will never administer routine antibiotics. However, if any of our animals need medical attention, we will of course act accordingly to get them back up to full health. Animals treated with antibiotics will then see out an extended withdrawal period to make sure antibiotic resistance does not enter the food chain.

How is the meat butchered?

Our organic meat arrives at the farm from small, family-run abattoirs, local to the farm on which the animals were raised to minimise the stress of live travel time. Our butchers carefully prepare the organic beef and lamb for dry aging while organic pork and poultry goes straight into our butchery. We only ever butcher to order – our meat never sits in plastic packaging as we only cut a product from its primal once it has been ordered by a customer.

Our freshly cut organic steaks, roasting joints, mince, sausages and more are all butchered, prepared and packed within 48 hours.

Who delivers my order and when will I know my time slot?

We work with DPD for deliveries and will choose the most efficient delivery option for you. You will be notified of your 1 hour delivery slot on the morning of your delivery. This will be sent by SMS and/or email depending on the details you have provided with your order. If you wish to input any special delivery instructions please do so via the notification or download the courier’s app.

What if I’m not home?

If no one is available at your address to take delivery of your order it will be left at a safe and convenient place, which you have specified to us in your order. If the products cannot be left at a safe and convenient location, or you are not in, our courier will leave your products either with a neighbour, or in a place which the courier determines to be suitable.

Packaging & Storage

How long will my order stay cold?

Packaging will keep perishable goods safe for 48 hours. Perishable goods must be consumed, frozen or refrigerated within 48 hours from the time of pack.

Is your packaging recyclable?

We choose to use reusable sustainable packaging for all our deliveries. Our cardboard boxes are made from recycled pulp and can be recycled in most domestic recycling schemes. Our veg is packed in compostable trays and paper bags. We pack our groceries with ’Woolcool’ liners. These natural sheepswool liners are sustainable, biodegradable and compostable, but we would rather reuse them along with our ice packs. So please send them back to us with a free DPD label, downloadable below. Help us make our reuse scheme sustainable by sending back a minimum of 4 sets of liners and ice packs each time.

How should I store raw meat?

Store in your refrigerator below 5°C, on the bottom shelf. Store meat in the bottom of the fridge – the coldest area. This also means that if any juices leak, they won’t run onto other foods. It’s usually best to store the meat in its original packaging. If you open the packet, transfer to an air tight, food safe container. Eat within 3 to 5 days.

Ordering

Will the weight be exactly as listed?

Although we have made every effort to be as accurate as possible, because our products are handmade, all sizes, weights, capacities, dimensions and measurements indicated on our website have a 5% tolerance. You will not be charged or refunded for variations in weight of products within this tolerance.

What if an item is unavailable?

Where you have ordered a product which we cannot provide (by way of example, because it is a perishable product which would not be edible by the time it is delivered to you) we may, at our sole discretion, provide a substitute of that product which we believe to be similar or materially identical to the product you ordered. You will not be charged additional fees for substituted products. Before making a substitution we may attempt to contact you by telephone or email to confirm the substitution with you.

Can I cancel my order?

You cannot cancel any order that contains perishable products (for example, meat) after 9am one week before the delivery date you specify in your order.

Can I return perishable items?

For the avoidance of doubt, perishable products (such as meat) once dispatched for delivery cannot be returned.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment by Mastercard, Visa, Visa Delta, Switch, American Express, PayPal and Apple Pay. You must pay for the products before we dispatch them. If you have subscribed to receive products on a recurring basis, we will take payment from the payment details you provide to us seven days before the date of despatch.

Can I use more than one discount code?

You may redeem only one promotional code per transaction and promotional codes cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotion or discount.
